Roadmap Information for Resource Providers

RPs use the Integration Badges UI in the Operations Dashboard to follow an interactive resource integration process, where:

• They can view roadmap and badge information.
• Leadership can enroll a resource in a roadmaps and plan badges using the summary information below.
• Implementors can perform the tasks for planned badges by following task instructions links.

Users will view badge availability information in the ACCESS Resource Catalog, where:

• They can access badge functionality using a resource specific Button and Access URL, or
• The Default badge access button and URL shown below when a resource specific one hasn't been set.

ACCESS Enabled Science Gateway

Infrastructure Type(s): Science Gateway Roadmap RP Summary: <p>A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_gateway">science gateway</a> (or science portal) is a community-developed set of tools, applications, and data integrated through a web-based portal or a suite of applications. They provide access to tools used in cutting-edge research such as, telescopes, seismic shake tables, supercomputers, sky surveys, undersea sensors, and more.&nbsp;</p><p>These gateways often <strong>connect diverse resources</strong> and make them easily accessible, <strong>lowering the barriers</strong> traditionally required to access these resources.<br><br>This roadmap enables the science gateway to integrate with the necessary ACCESS cyber-infrastructure components which may include, high performance computing (HPC) allocations, storage allocations, cloud-based resources, and identity and access management (IAM).</p> Integration Concierge: Chun Chan, Dinuka De Silva Roadmap Status: Draft

Required Badges

	ACCESS Resource Description RP Activity Summary: <p>The resource provider supplies information describing their type of resource, including: public facing information like descriptive text, user guide URL, and resource status dates; and non-public information like the names and email addresses of RP staff contacts. ACCESS allocated resource providers will generally enter this information into the ACCESS CyberInfrastructure Description Repository (CiDeR) database themselves, with an estimated effort of 2-3/hours to gain CiDeR access and to enter the information, and ~30 minutes semi-annually to maintain the information. 	ACCESS Obtain Science Gateway Allocation RP Activity Summary: <p>The science gateway operator requests an ACCESS allocation through the standard process described <a href="https://allocations.access-ci.org/">here</a> and under certain circumstances may request multiple allocations. Once allocations are approved, the gateway provider uses the ACCESS allocation request system to transfer ACCESS credits to one or more particular resource providers. The exchange request may take several days or longer to be approved by the resource provider.</p> ACCESS Verification: Manual: <p>The science gateway operator receives and processes AMIE packets which results in local ACCESS allocations for users of the gateway.
